Tree Posture aka TADASANA (SANSKRIT)

Tree stretches the spine and improves posture and balance while increasing the flexibility of the ankles, knees and hip joints. This posture, along with toe stand are preparatory postures for Locust pose. According to Bikram, Tree Pose, more than any other reveals the curious differences in human flexibility.

Tips for Tree Pose

  • Keep your glutes tight and your spine straight
  • To keep your leg on your thigh in the posture without slipping, keep you focus on pushing your hips forward and bringing your knee back
  • Practice a couple sets of this posture after class to see quicker results
